195-0 Cabinet Roles and Strategy

The strongest name is not always the strongest appointment. Learn what every seat rewards and how five different specialists become one cabinet.

President

The President anchors the government. Politics is the most reliable field for this office because authority, coalition building, public responsibility, and executive experience all map naturally to central command. Military figures can also perform well when their record suggests leadership under pressure, while exceptional business or cultural figures may still produce a workable appointment. The strategic danger is spending a broadly useful political candidate too early. Presidents score strongly, but Politics also supports the Vice President and Propaganda Minister, so inspect your remaining seats before committing.

In an awkward Daily round, the President can become a safe home for a candidate who offers general authority but no perfect specialist match. That flexibility makes the seat valuable. In Classic, consider holding it open until you see whether the draft produces an obvious political leader or forces a creative compromise.

Vice President

The Vice President rewards balance. Politics is dependable, Science is unusually useful, and Business can support the office through systems thinking and organizational judgment. This is the cabinet’s pressure-release valve: candidates who are competent, analytical, and credible but do not dominate a specialist seat can often contribute here. The role scores less explosively than the best General, Propaganda Minister, or Treasurer match, yet a poor Vice President can quietly drag down an otherwise spectacular lineup.

Do not treat the office as a leftover slot. If you wait until round five and the remaining candidate only fits a role you have already filled, the supporting seat becomes expensive. Keep at least two plausible offices open during the middle of the draft, and use the Vice Presidency to preserve that flexibility.

General

The General is the clearest specialist role. Military candidates receive the strongest direct fit in the scoring model, while Science can be a credible secondary path because technical judgment, logistics, and disciplined planning matter. Political authority may be serviceable, but Culture and Business usually give up points unless the rest of the cabinet compensates. A recognizable commander is therefore valuable, but only when the country-field briefing actually offers one.

Classic respins make this seat easier to target. If General remains open and a late briefing shows a weak field, respinning the category toward Military may be worth the delay. Daily offers no such escape. There, you may need to compare three imperfect candidates and protect the best available strategist before another office consumes them.

Propaganda Minister

The Propaganda Minister measures persuasion, attention, and narrative reach. Culture is the premium field: performers, writers, filmmakers, and other public communicators often understand how stories travel. Politics is the strongest alternative because campaigns and public leadership require message discipline. Business and Science can survive here, but they usually surrender the advantage that a cultural figure creates.

This office produces some of the game’s funniest cabinets because famous entertainers may become strategically serious appointments. That contrast is intentional. 195-0 does not rate personal virtue or endorse propaganda; it turns broad public experience into a fictional role-fit puzzle. The entire game is entertainment, and every result should be read in that spirit.

Treasurer

The Treasurer rewards financial systems, resource management, and institutional endurance. Business is the strongest field by a clear margin. Science follows as a disciplined alternative, while political experience can provide a stable fallback. Military or cultural appointments are possible, but they generally need compensation from stronger fits elsewhere. Since Business candidates can also work in the Presidency or Vice Presidency, the key question is scarcity: which open office has the weakest alternatives?

A balanced cabinet often saves one strong business figure for the Treasury. A greedy cabinet places famous founders everywhere and loses the specialist bonus. If the Daily gives you only one credible business candidate, compare the cost of using that person now with the risk that no later round can repair the Treasury.

Best Cabinet Strategy for Classic Draft

Classic lets you shape the next pool before opening it, so use country and category respins to solve the weakest part of the cabinet. Preserve two plausible offices through the middle rounds, target Military when General lacks a specialist, and protect Business when Treasurer has no convincing fallback. Diversity can separate two similar picks, but five countries with poor role fit remain weaker than a focused group of specialists.

Best Cabinet Strategy for the Daily Challenge

Daily removes respins, making flexibility more important than finding an ideal composition. Identify the rarest specialist in each pool, avoid using a narrow fit in a broad office, and keep the Vice Presidency available when a later candidate may not fit anywhere else. Treat country diversity as a tiebreaker, not the objective, because the five role matches still drive most of the result.
